SEDALIA - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Juniors moved to the title game in the Sedalia Wood Bat Tournament with two wins Saturday.
Post 5 defeated Fulton 9-1. Nolan Heckemeyer was the winning pitcher, going the distance in the five-inning conteest. He allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks while striking out seven. Gavin Bernskoetter had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI.
Post 5 topped Fike 7-2. Jackson Voss went the distance in the victory, allowing two earned runs on three hits and four walks in seven innings. He struck out seven.
Griffin Buschjost, Alex Grellner, Wyatt Luebbert, Voss and Braden Hickey all had two hits.
Post 5 will face the Elks at 4 p.m. today for the title.
