SEDALIA - An eight-run inning helped the Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Juniors defeat Smithton 12-0 in five innings Friday in the Sedalia Wood Bat Tournament.
Trent Morrow had two RBI for Jefferson City. Alex Grellner, Wyatt Luebbert, Gavin Bernskoetter and Griffin Buschjost each had two hits for Post 5.
Cade Stockman went all five innings on the mound, allowing no hits while striking out four.
Post 5 led 4-0 before adding eight runs in the fourth.
Post 5 will face Fulton at 4 p.m. and Fike at 6 p.m. today in the tournament.
