The Jefferson City Lady Jays won both matches Saturday in the Capital City Kickoff, topping the Helias Lady Crusaders 8-1 in the championship match at Washington Park.
The Lady Jays swept the three doubles matches. Erica Dunn and Susan Meyer won 8-6 against Abby Dowden and Catherine Conley, Bailey Patrick and Bailey Higgins picked up a 9-7 victory against Liz Conley and Martina Lorang, and Akhi Donthireddy and Sudhi Kumar won 8-1 against Anna Theroff and Grace Twehous.
Winning in singles for Jefferson City were Dunn against Dowden (2-6, 7-5, 10-6 tiebreaker), Patrick against Liz Conley (6-1, 6-1), Donthireddy against Lorang (6-0, 6-1), Higgins against Theroff (6-0, 6-0) and Quintera Lewis against Twehous (6-2, 6-3).
Catherine Conley picked up Helias' only singles win, beating Meyer 6-2, 3-6 with a 10-4 match tiebreaker.
Jefferson City opened the second day of the four-team tournament with a 9-0 victory against Lebanon.

In doubles, Dunn and Meyer won 8-2, Patrick and Higgins picked up an 8-1 win and Donthireddy and Kumar also won 8-1.
In Saturday's morning match, Helias won 8-1 against Hickman at Jefferson City Country Club.
Dowden and Catherine Conley won their doubles match 8-2, while Lorang and Liz Conley won 8-1. Theroff and Twehous blanked their opponents 8-0.
In singles, winners for the Lady Crusaders were Dowden (6-2, 6-3), Catherine Conley (6-3, 6-1), Liz Conley (7-5, 6-2), Theroff (6-0, 6-2) and Twehous (6-2, 6-0). Lorang lost in straight sets 3-6, 5-7.
Both Jefferson City and Helias won their season openers Friday in their first matches of the Kickoff. The Lady Jays topped Hickman 9-0 and the Lady Crusaders routed Lebanon 9-0.
