Big third quarter sends Helias girls past Hickman

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders outscored Hickman 19-2 in the third quarter Saturday afternoon in posting a 47-22 victory against the Kewpies.

Helias trailed 7-6 after the first quarter before Helias rallied to take a 19-13 advantage at the half.

Lindsey Byers finished with 20 points to pace the Lady Crusaders. Meagan Engelbrecht added nine, all in the second half.

Emma Chapman totaled 12 points to pace Hickman (7-14), 10 coming in the first half.

Helias (14-6) will play Monday at Southern Boone before taking on the Jefferson City Lady Jays on Tuesday at Fleming Fieldhouse.

The varsity-only game will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Lady Jays defeated the Lady Crusaders 45-31 last month at Rackers Fieldhouse.
