Prep Baseball: Fatima 9, Moberly 1

FULTON - Josef Keilholz's arm and Austin Wegman's bat powered the Fatima Comets to a 9-1 win Monday against the Moberly Spartans in the first round of the Fulton Tournament at Westminster College.

Keilzholz pitched six innings to earn the win, striking out nine batters. He gave up one run on four hits and one walk.

Austin Troesser pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning, striking out two.

Wegman went 3-for-3 with two singles and a grand slam, part of a five-run fifth inning for the Comets.

Gage Cunningham went 2-for-4 with two single, driving in two runs in the bottom of the first to give Fatima a 2-0 lead. Dean Hagenhoff was 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBI, while Jaden Hoskins added a pair of singles.

Fatima (9-11) is scheduled to play Southern Boone at 6:30 p.m. today at Fulton High School in the semifinals. The Eagles defeated North Callaway 4-1 and Fulton won 7-2 against Mexico in Monday's other first-round games.
