Prep Baseball: Linn 4, St. Elizabeth 3

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Hornets used a home run to help force extra innings. The Linn Wildcats used a bunt to win it.

With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the 14th inning, the Wildcats were able to score the go-ahead run on a bunt to the pitcher in a 4-3 victory.

Down 3-0 in the sixth inning, Coltin Green belted a two-run home run to make it a one run game.

Green also drove in the tying run in the seventh on a fielder's choice.

Green finished 1-for-3 with three RBI and two walks.

Taking the loss was Dylan Wobbe, who allowed one run on zero hits with nine strikeouts and seven walks in four innings of relief.

Brock Lucas tossed six innings of relief, striking out 11 while surrendering just four hits.

Aaron Blomberg threw the first four innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk.

Alex Grellner pitched eight innings for the Wildcats and also collected three hits and an RBI. Austin McKin also had three hits for Linn.

Linn (11-6) plays Friday at Fatima.

St. Elizabeth (10-2, No. 4 in Class 1) plays Saturday against Versailles and Jamestown at Versailles.
