The Helias Lady Crusaders finished third Saturday in the Kelsey Toebben Memorial Helias Freshman Tournament.
Helias defeated Rolla (25-13, 25-16, 25-17) and School of the Osage (25-7, 25-8, 25-21) in pool play.
Helias then beat Osage (25-14, 25-18) in the quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Rock Bridge in the semifinals (18-25, 26-24, 18-25). Helias took third with a win against Camdenton (25-21, 25-21).
Grace Verslues had 56 points (12 aces), 40 assists and 18 digs in the tournament for Helias. Lauren Strope totaled 31 kills, 17 points and 11 blocks. Alyssa Gipe totaled 42 digs and 22 points, while Alice Stiefermann had 21 points, 20 assists and 13 digs. Kendal Saucier had 23 points, 15 digs and 12 kills, while Halle Luetkemeyer finished with 19 kills.
Helias is now 8-4 on the season.
