MARSHALL, Mo. - The Warrensburg Lady Tigers made the Helias Lady Crusaders work overtime for their third straight district soccer title.
Warrnsburg forced OT with a second-half goal but Helias got the victory on Hannah Loethen's score in double overtime, winning 3-2 in the Class 3 District 13 championship game.
The Lady Tigers struck first, scoring about halfway into the first half. Grace Winegar tied it at 1 with three minutes remaining in the opening half. Lainy Lamb assisted on the goal.
Helias led 2-1 following Olivia Farrow's goal about midway through the second half. Warrensburg answered a few minutes later, tying it at 2.
Helias (12-12) advances to play either at Notre Dame de Sion or Belton on Tuesday in sectionals.
