Jays blank Waynesville in tennis

The Jefferson City Jays opened the tennis season with a 9-0 win against Waynesville on Wednesday at Washington Park.

Winning in singles play were Karsten McMillan (8-1), Josh Wilde (8-0), Atul Krishnadas (8-5), Tanner Haugen (3-1), Alec Krumm (8-4) and Tarun Bathini (8-2).

Doubles winners were McMillan and Haugen (8-2), Wilde and Krishnadas (8-0), and Krumm and Bathini (8-0).

The Jays won the JV match 13-1.

Jefferson City (1-0) will play today at Camdenton.
