CALIFORNIA, Mo. - The Fatima Lady Comets overcame an early deficit Tuesday to beat the Battle Spartans 67-44 in the first round of the California Tournament.
Fatima trailed 13-10 after one quarter, but the Lady Comets dominated the next two quarters and didn't look back. Fatima took a 29-19 lead into halftime, then outscored Battle 26-12 in the third quarter to lead 55-31 entering the fourth.
Courtney Wolfe led the Lady Comets with a game-high 26 points.
Fatima (11-2), the tournament's No. 3 seed, faces second-seeded Boonville at 7:30 p.m. today in the semifinals.
