Prep Baseball: Jamestown 1, Pilot Grove 0

JAMESTOWN - Garrett Wolfe couldn't win the game with his arm, so he won it with his bat.

The Jamestown senior hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Eagles to a 1-0 victory Friday against the Pilot Grove Tigers.

William Lieser opened the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff single for the Eagles. Austin Flippin reached on a fielder's choice and Clark Rohrbach reached on an error to load the bases. Wolfe singled to center field, scoring Lieser as the winning run.

Wolfe went 2-for-4, adding a single in the first inning. He also pitched the first six innings, striking out 15 batters while walking four. He gave up just one hit, a single to Cole Meisenheimer in the top of the fourth inning.

Flippin earned the win for the Eagles, striking out the side in the top of the seventh. He also had the game's only extra-base hit, a double in the third inning.

Jamestown (6-2) hosts Prairie Home on Monday.
