JC sweeps Helias in freshman baseball

The Jefferson City Jays swept Tuesday's freshman doubleheader against Helias, winning 11-1 and 3-2 at Vivion Field.

Jacob Roettgen earned the win in Game 1, pitching six innings. He also walked four times at the plate.

Taylor Hopkins, Wyatt Fischer and Tanner Schmitz each had two hits for the Jays.

Fischer threw 4 innings in Game 2 to get the victory.

The Jays will host Rock Bridge on Thursday.

Helias will play in the Blair Oaks Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
