SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays won the Gold Division title Saturday at the Kickapoo Tournament.
Jefferson City closed the soccer event with a 2-1 win against the Nixa Eagles.
Trailing 1-0 at intermission, Chad Hamler scored nine minutes into the second half to tie the contest. Tucker Jett then recorded the game-winner with six minutes remaining.
Earlier Saturday, the Jays scored five times in the second half to pull away for a 6-0 win against Kickapoo.
Hamler had a hat trick in the victory. Max Allen, Justin Gerke and Brandon Lopez all scored one goal each.
Jefferson City (8-5) is back in action Tuesday at home against Battle.
