RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - The Calvary Lutheran boys and girls teams made history Saturday.
The Lions and Lady Lions each won their first district titles in program history, running away with the team championships in the Class 1 District 5 meet.
The Calvary boys finished with 123 points, well ahead of second-place Jamestown, which had 75.
The Lady Lions scored 125 points in the team standings. St. Elizabeth was second with 96.
Luke Allen and Reece Going each were quadruple-winners for the Lions, accounted for Calvary's eight boys event wins.
Allen took home titles in the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay.
Going was on Calvary first-place 4x200- and 4x400-meter relays and added wins in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
The Calvary girls won all four relays and eight events total.
Samantha Gunn was a four-time winner, taking titles in the long jump, triple jump, 300-meter hurdles and 4x100-meter relay.
Sarah Johnson and Emma Homfeldt each were on three relay teams.
St. Elizabeth's Andrea Schaffer was a double-winner, finishing first in the shot put and discus.
