Post 5 Seniors advance to Zone semis

WASHINGTON, Mo. - Drew Bax drove in five runs Thursday night, including a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning, to lead the Jefferson City Post 5 Seniors to a 10-0 win against St. Charles Post 312 in the first round of the Zone Tournament.

Bax got the scoring going with a two-run single in the second inning. His double in the seventh ended the game by run-rule.

Jason Rackers had three of Jefferson City's 12 hits, including an RBI single in a five-run seventh.

Parker Schnieders also had three hits, driving in a run with a single in the fourth.

Post 5 added two runs in the fifth as Johnathan Backes and Brandon Williams smacked back-to-back RBI doubles.

Skyler Dickneite picked up the win on the mound, striking out eight while allowing five hits and walking two in seven innings.

Post 5 will face Washington at 4 p.m. today in the semifinals of the double-elimination tournament.
