STEELVILLE, Mo. - The Steelville Cardinals outlasted the Fatima Comets in a back-and-forth contest Thursday, coming away with a 74-72 win.
Steelville held a 25-23 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 47-38 by halftime. Fatima closed the gap to 58-55 heading into the fourth quarter.
Steven Brandt paced the Comets with 37 points. Sam Groner and Eric Brendel scored 14 and 10, respectively.
Fatima (8-6) is back in action Tuesday at Dixon.
