IBERIA - The fifth-seeded St. Elizabeth Hornets beat the fourth-seeded Tuscumbia Lions 54-43 in the first-round of the Iberia Tournament on Thursday.
The teams were tied at eight after the first quarter, then St. Elizabeth led 24-18 at halftime and 45-25 after the third.
Ross Struemph had 19 points for the Hornets and Nolan Heckemeyer had 15.
St. Elizabeth (5-7) plays Iberia at 7:30 p.m. today in the semifinals.
