Trenton Dillon of Eldon made program history Friday by becoming the first Mustang to ever advance to a state title match.
Dillon, a junior, won his Class 2 semifinal match at 160 pounds by fall against Oak Grove senior Jacob Parvica to advance to today's title round, scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
Dillon (54-1) will face Kellen Ekern of Mexico (45-1) in the title match. Ekern, a junior, is the defending state champion at 160.
Two other Mustangs remain alive after winning their third-round wrestleback matches and will medal in the tournament - Dawson Brandt at 170 and Trenton Kidwell at 195.
Brandt advanced with a 4-1 win against Aaron Herman of St. Clair, while Kidwell posted a 1-0 victory against Cameron Vox of Mexico.
