SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays improved to 2-0 in the Stephanie Phillips Classic with a 69-47 win against the Republic Lady Tigers on Friday night at Kickapoo High School.
The Lady Jays were ahead 21-16 after one quarter and 33-25 at halftime. They were able to push the lead to double digits in the second half, extending their edge to 49-36 at the end of the third quarter.
Jefferson City (4-2), ranked No. 9 in Class 5, wraps up tournament play at noon today against Nixa, which is also 2-0 in the tournament.
