COLUMBIA - The Jefferson City Jays defeated the Battle Spartans 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Chad Hamler recorded the lone goal of the contest, assisted on a cross form Layton Boyce.
Nick Ryan was in goal for the shutout for the Jays.
Jefferson City (8-4) will play in the Gateway City Classic, starting Thursday against Raymore-Peculiar at Rockwood-Summit High School.
In Tuesday's JV game, Jefferson City blanked Battle 4-0.
Will Kuster, Blaine Dace, Angel Garcia and Sam Allen scored goals for the Jays. Assists went to Wilber Fernandez, Felix Vasquez, Connor Clime and David Gilliam.
