New Bloomfield softball splits double-header

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats lost for the first time this season as they split Tuesday's doubleheader with Southern Boone.

New Bloomfield won the first game 4-0 before the Lady Eagles prevailed in the second game, 5-2.

Kaylee Beck earned the win in the first game, allowing four hits and walking none in seven innings. She struck out four and also drove in a run.

Shelby Ruppel went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a double for the Lady Wildcats. Madi Craighead went 4-for-4 with four singles. Rylee Rackers finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Madison Love went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the second game.

New Bloomfield (9-1) plays Thursday at South Callaway.
