ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Jefferson City boys cross country team placed second and the girls fourth in Saturday's Class 4 District 4 meet.
The Jays, who got 94 points, finished runner-up to Rock Bridge (21).
Jackson Schwartz led the Jays by taking second place in 16:10.66.
Cole Biesemeyer was 11th (16:47.90), Brendan Bena 20th (17:14.48), Benjamin Krause 28th (17:20.14), Landon Dunlap 33rd (17:40.71), Jeffrey Dodson 34th (17:42.53) and Deaken Walker 36th (17:44.24).
Laura Sherwood was the top runner for the Lady Jays, finishing third in 19:25.95.
The Lady Jays placed fourth with 119 points. Rock Bridge won the team title with 79 points.
Kayelee Payton finished in the top 10 for Jefferson City, taking eighth in 19:38.93.
Other Lady Jays runners were Katie Ruth (24th, 20:58.91), Alivia Bopp (43rd, 21:49.40), Brianne Bechtel (45th, 21:58.86), Syleste Martinez (46th, 22:07.35) and Mira Gandhi (60th, 22:44.37).
