Women's Soccer: William Woods' Gourley honored by AMC

FULTON - William Woods sophomore forward McKenzie Gourley was named the American Midwest Conference offensive player of the week, the league announced Monday.

Then, in Tuesday's 8-0 win against Central Baptist College, Gourley (Jefferson City High School) scored a career-high four goals for the Owls.

In receiving the weekly AMC award, Gourley recorded a hat trick last Friday in William Woods' 5-1 win at Williams Baptist, and before that she scored two goals last Tuesday in a 3-1 win at Park.

Gourley has scored 11 goals in the Owls' last five games, all wins. During that stretch, she finished with 27 shots, 15 on goal.

In 12 games this season, Gourley has 14 goals, which ranks 17th in the NAIA. She also ha 40 shots, 22 on goal.

It is Gourley's second career AMC player of the week award. She received the award Oct. 29, 2018, during her freshman season.

William Woods (7-7) hosts Hannibal-LaGrange next Wednesday.
