LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Williams Baptist junior Tanner Irwin finished 3-0 on Friday and Saturday for the Eagles at the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals.
Irwin (Jefferson City High School) was the only Eagle to post points in their first two dual matches of the event.
Wrestling at 141 pounds, he won by major decision (10-2) in Williams Baptist's 41-4 loss to University of the Cumberlands. Later, Irwin won by forfeit in the Eagles' 41-6 loss to Lindsey Wilson.
Williams Baptist closed with a 35-16 win against Bethany. Irwin picked up a win by fall in 1:29.
Irwin, who is currently ranked No. 6 in the NAIA at 133 and won a title earlier this season at the Patriot Open, has a 14-1 record.
Williams Baptist hosts Hannibal-LaGrange for a dual Friday.
