Lincoln to face Emporia State in basketball twinbill

The Lincoln Blue Tigers men's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways this afternoon when it takes on the Emporia State Hornets in MIAA action at Emporia, Kan.

The game between Lincoln (14-5 overall, 7-3 MIAA) and Emporia State (8-11, 3-7) is slated for a 3:30 p.m. tip.

Lincoln is coming off a 75-73 win Thursday at Washburn. Amariontez Ivory paced the Blue Tigers with 21 points in the victory, while Terrance Smith added 18 and Ni'Sean Rigmaiden totaled 14.

The Hornets are coming off an 85-68 home win Thursday against the Lindenwood Lions. Four Hornets scored in double figures in the victory.

Emporia State, under first-year head coach Craig Doty, is looking to win consecutive conference games for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

Emporia State holds a 17-9 advantage in the all-time series against Lincoln.

The women's game between Lincoln (9-10, 1-9) and Emporia State (15-5, 6-4) will start the action at 1:30 p.m.

Lincoln dropped a 79-73 decision Thursday night at Washburn, Bre Coleman finished with a game-high 28 points for the Blue Tigers, while Zhanesha Dickerson added 27 and Kaloni Pryear chipped in with 11.

Emporia State defeated Lindenwood 83-63 on Thursday to extend its winning streak to three games. The Lady Hornets had four players score in double figures in a balanced offensive attack.

Emporia State has won 20 straight games against Lincoln and holds a 26-2 edge in the all-time series.
