INDIANAPOLIS - Rockhurst junior designated player Payton Staggs hit her first home run of the season Sunday in the Hawks' 8-6 loss to No. 16 Indianapolis.
Staggs (Blair Oaks High School) hit a solo home run to left field in the fifth inning. She finished 2-for-4 at the plate, adding a double and two runs scored.
In 36 games this season, Staggs is batting .333 (37-for-111) with 24 runs scored and 17 RBI.
Rockhurst (20-19) plays Friday at Missouri-St. Louis.
