LU softball falls to Truman State

KIRKSVILLE - The Lincoln softball team dropped both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against Truman State, losing 8-1 in Game 1 and 6-1 in Game 2.

Jordan Lawson had two of Lincoln's three hits in Game 1. Tori Nienhueser had the other, an RBI double to score Lawson in the fourth inning.

Madison Ragar was the losing pitcher, allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits with six walks and two strikeouts in six innings.

Rachael Balke tallied a pair of hits in Game 2. Lincoln's lone run came on Alyssa Schulte's home run in the fifth.

Delayne Patton went the distance in the circle for Lincoln, allowing five earned runs on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Lincoln (3-21) will host Washburn today at LU Softball Field. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon.
