Lincoln to face Southwest Baptist in MIAA basketball doubleheader

Two teams looking to get back in the win column will meet this afternoon when the Lincoln Blue Tigers travel to Bolivar to take on the Southwest Baptist Bearcats in MIAA men's basketball action.

Lincoln (8-10 overall, 2-7 MIAA) has dropped its last two games while Southwest Baptist (10-7, 4-4) has fallen in two of its last three contests.

The Blue Tigers have won the last three meetings with the Bearcats, the last being an 85-73 decision last year at Jason Gym.

Logan Hovey paces the Bearcats in scoring at 19.0 points per game, third in the MIAA this season. He also pulls down 7.7 rebounds. Marlon Alcindor is next at 11.9 points per contest for Southwest Baptist, which averages 77.8 points per game.

It's the second trip to Bolivar this season for Lincoln, which opened the season at the SBU Classic last November. Lincoln fell 80-78 to Southwestern Oklahoma State and defeated Oklahoma Baptist 70-60 in the Classic.

Game time is 3:30 p.m.

Lincoln (3-14, 0-9) and Southwest Baptist (11-6, 3-5) will meet in a women's game to start the day at 1:30 p.m.

The Bearcats will bring a potent offense into the contest, averaging 77.1 points. Lincoln is allowing 70.2 points per game.

Megan Rosenbohm lead the way at 19.8 points per game for the Bearcats, good for second in the conference and 21st in NCAA Division II. Richardson is next at 16.4 points per contest.

The Bearcats will bring a three-game winning streak into this afternoon's contest.

Lincoln posted a 72-70 victory in last year's matchup with Southwest Baptist at Jason Gym.
