WARRENSBURG - Central Missouri junior pitcher Luke Mercer saved both games of a doubleheader sweep last Friday against Colorado-Springs.
Mercer (Tipton High School) pitched two-thirds of an inning in Game 1, inducing a double play to finish a 6-4 win. In Game 2, he pitched a scoreless seventh inning and recorded a strikeout in a 9-7 victory.
In three appearances this season, Mercer had yet to allow a run in 3 innings, tallying four strikeouts to just one walk and one hit.
Central Missouri (3-2) hosts a doubleheader Saturday against Winona State.
