DES MOINES, Iowa - Sara Rhine of Drake University has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
It's the third time Rhine (Eldon High School) has earned the honor this basketball season. Coming off the bench, Rhine averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds to help Drake to road wins at Evansville and Indiana State.
Rhine had 19 points and four rebounds in just 16 minutes against Evansville. On Sunday against Indiana State, Rhine picked up her fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
For the season, Rhine is second in the conference in scoring (15.8 points) and tied for fifth in rebounds (6.4).
Drake (18-7 overall, 13-0 MVC) is back in action Friday at Northern Iowa.
