Lincoln softball drops doubleheader at Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Lincoln Blue Tigers dropped a pair of 9-1 decisions in softball Monday to Rogers State.

In the opener, Rogers State led 5-0 when Lincoln scored its only run in the top of the fourth inning.

Mykenzie Livesay got the RBI for the Blue Tigers, drawing a bases-loaded walk to score Maci Marshall.

Lauren Morrow had two of Lincoln's four hits in the game, which ended by run-rule in the bottom of the sixth.

Sarah Westhoff took the loss, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits and a walk in three innings. She recorded one strikeout.

In the second game, Rogers State scored seven runs on eight hits and an error in the bottom of the first inning.

Lincoln's lone run came in the fourth when Tori Nienhueser scored on a wild pitch after reaching on a walk.

The Blue Tigers had three hits in the game.

Macie Kinsey did not record an out in taking the loss. Jordan Lawson pitched four innings of relief in the five-inning contest.

Lincoln (0-12) will play Friday and Saturday in the HBCU Classic in Oklahoma City.
