CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Delta State senior Corey Beard recorded a career-high eight strikeouts Saturday in an 11-7 loss against Lee, ranked No. 21 in NCAA Division II.
Beard (Jefferson City High School) pitched 62/3 innings, receiving a no-decision. He gave up seven runs on 11 hits and walked two.
In four starts this season, Beard has a 2-0 record with 24 strikeouts in 232/3 innings pitched and a 5.70 ERA.
Delta State (10-3) will play Wednesday at Mississippi Valley State.
