The WWU Owls have won five of their last after taking down the Lions in an American Midwest Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Anderson Arena.
William Woods University (19-10, 13-8 AMC) led 35-28 at halftime.
Senior guard Deon Pettigrew directed the Owls - who shot 41 percent (21-of-51) as a team - with a game-high 18 points. Junior guard DaShaun Stark tallied 15 points, senior forward Trey Mitchell chipped in with 14 and junior forward Brandon Vice added 13.
Vice also brought down a game-high 12 rebounds to give the Owls a 40-33 advantage on the boards.
Marcus Baldwin led Freed-Hardeman (17-11, 12-8) - which shot 41 percent (24-of-59) from the field - with 17 points and Fitzgerald Hopkins put up 13.
On Thursday night, the Owls defeated Williams Baptist (Arkansas) College 81-67 in an AMC game at Anderson Arena.
William Woods - which manhandled the Eagles 82-63 on Jan. 5 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas - led 11-8 with 15 minutes, 4 seconds to go in the first half Saturday. The Owls then went on a 27-8 run to increase their lead to 38-16 with 3:43 left in the half.
William Woods went into halftime with a 40-27 advantage.
Stark paced the Owls - who shot 53 percent (28-of-53) from the field - with a game-high 21 points. Junior guard Jonny Woolf provided 19 points, senior forward Torin Washington finished with 12 and Pettigrew put up 10.
E.J. Rucker led Williams Baptist - which shot just 37 percent (21-of-57) as a team - with 18 points. Shackeel Butters produced 14 points and Dominique Dyes added 11.
William Woods closes out its regular season with an AMC game at No. 3 Columbia College at 3 p.m. next Saturday. The Owls lost to the Cougars 71-64 on Jan. 16 in Fulton.
