Blue Tigers swept at home vs. Quincy

The Lincoln softball team lost both games Wednesday in its final home games of the season, losing 5-0 and 12-5 to Quincy at LU Softball Field.

The first game was scoreless until the fifth inning, when the Hawks had four runs in the top half of the inning.

Lincoln was held to three hits in the shutout, getting a double from Macie Kinsey and a single each from Kiley Kerr and Lauren Morrow (Helias High School).

Madison Ragar took the loss in the pitcher's circle, giving up five runs on 13 hits and finishing with one strikeout.

The Blue Tigers held a 3-2 lead after two innings in the second game. Tori Nienhueser had a two-run double to center field to tie the game and Kerr gave Lincoln a one-run lead by drawing a bases-loaded walk, scoring Nienhueser.

Quincy then scored 10 unanswered runs to take a 12-3 lead. Lincoln pushed two runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning, forcing a seventh inning.

Mykenzie Livesay and Nienhueser each had an RBI single in the sixth.

The Blue Tigers collected nine hits in the game. Nienhueser was 2-for-2 with one single, one double and three RBI, while Livesay was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.

Lincoln (5-43, 2-20 MIAA) had its two road doubleheaders pushed back this weekend due to the threat of rain in the forecast. The Blue Tigers will play Sunday at Central Missouri, followed by two games Monday at Southwest Baptist to finish the season.
