College Soccer: Columbia College wins on PKs

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The Columbia College Cougars upset fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson, winning 4-3 on penalty kicks after playing to a tie at 2 on Monday in the second round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championships.

During penalty kicks, junior midfielder Jordan Poire (Helias High School) scored on the Cougars' first attempt and senior defender Taylor Hagenhoff (Helias High School) put Columbia College ahead 3-2. Freshman defender Kaitlyn Tambke (Jefferson City High School) put her shot in the back of the net to seal the win for the Cougars.

Columbia College (20-1-2), ranked No. 13 in the NAIA, advances to play sixth-ranked Northwestern (Ohio) today in the quarterfinal round.
