Responding to "One size does not fit all" LTE June 2. The Supreme Court is elected to interpret the Constitution and our laws and not make them. When Roe v. Wade was decided, they violated this premise, which has since divided the country.
The writer asked if pro-life legislators were willing to adopt not realizing just how many people cannot have children or lose them and that is the only solution to have a family. The scrutiny of adoption interviews, medical exams, police and FBI investigations, finger-printing, home and school evaluations for safety, assets and playground locations are just some of those requirements. People often take their blessings for granted.
Additionally, the writer is not aware that more women die from abortions than childbirth and why pro-lifers have tried to require abortion clinics to be associated with hospitals. It's to save women's lives from botched abortions.
A study concluded in 2014 from data collected over 10 years on a half million first pregnancy women revealed the following:
During the first six months after an early abortion of 12 weeks or less, a woman has double the risk of death compared to giving birth. During the first year following a late abortion after 12 weeks, a woman has over three times the risk of death compared to giving birth. So, the fear perpetuated that if Roe v. In many abortions, neither the father, nor the girl's parents even know that she is having an abortion. That was the case of Abby Johnson, who had two abortions prior to being a director of a Planned Parenthood clinic. She described how they lied to girls on the safety of the procedure just to meet quotas. Everyone should witness this movie to see what actually happens in an abortion, as even Abby was shocked and it changed her whole view.
There are already medical clinics that provide all the procedures women need. Planned Parenthood makes more money peddling abortions than birth-control. Who speaks for the child the woman carries? Isn't it ironic that the most heinous killers in America get "life" in prison and yet the most innocent get killed?
