Your Opinion: ‘Public servants’ or thieves and liars?

Dear Editor:

Taxation is theft. The people of Missouri voted last November on Prop D, which would’ve taxed fuel to repair roads. A few months go by and now elected “public servants” of Missouri decide to ignore the people for various reasons and want to pass a new bill that would increase tax on fuel to repair roads. These “public servants” are egotists.

Missouri uses FPTP (first past the post) voting, so the 53.6 percent that voted against the tax defeated the tax. That’s the rule of the game.

Obey the people. Serve the majority. Don’t neglect your word. Taxation is theft.

So, to be clear, your current actions make you a thief and a liar.
