Jefferson City man gets probation for stealing at work

A Jefferson City man was placed on two years of unsupervised probation for pleading guilty to taking merchandise while working at the former K-Mart on Missouri Boulevard.

Brandon Normal, 19, was charged with one count of misdemeanor theft. He must also pay $305 in restitution.

Jefferson City police reported Normal was with a group of three other employees who took merchandise in December 2016 through various means such as merchandise overriding, failing to ring up purchases and taking items out with paying for them. This was shortly before the business closed its doors.

As a group, the four took more than $4,400 from the business, police said.
