Lincoln extends losing streak to eight

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Lincoln managed five hits and committed three errors as the Blue Tigers fell to Northeastern State 12-2 in eight innings in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association matchup on Saturday.

Lincoln (1-18, 0-15) has now lost eight straight going into today's baseball game against the RiverHawks (12-13, 9-10).

Zach Roberts, Ben Stewart, Josh Kennedy, Gatlin Wiggans and Nick Lovell all had hits for the Blue Tigers.

Joe Jungmeyer (0-5) allowed six runs on six hits, while walking four and striking out four in six innings.

Zach York yielded two runs (1 earned) on one hit and one walk in one inning, while Josh Kennedy allowed four runs on four hits in 1/3 inning.

The Blue Tigers and RiverHawks will conclude their four-game series with a single nine-inning contest at noon today.

A number of big offensive plays combined with some errors by the Lincoln baseball team allowed Northeastern State to sweep a doubleheader against the Blue Tigers on Friday.

The RiverHawks scored 11 first-inning runs en route to a 20-2 victory in the opener, before taking the nightcap 3-1.

The Blue Tigers committed three errors in Game 1 and Northeastern State took advantage of 21 hits to win the seven-inning contest.

All 11 of Northeastern State's first-inning runs, along with two runs in the second, were unearned.

Lincoln tallied eight hits, two coming from Martin Gulley, in the opener.

Zach Roberts, who had the Blue Tigers' only hit in Game 2, also had Lincoln only run, which was unearned.
