JC man charged with burglary, stealing

A Jefferson City man has been charged with breaking into a residence in December 2013.

Kyle Vaughn, 19, 2618 Southridge Drive, is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing firearms.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows the break-in occurred at a home in the 1500 block of Green Berry Road. Entry was made by forcing open a kitchen window.

Two handguns and two laptop computers were taken.

During an interview with authorities, Vaughn admitted to stealing the items.

He said the laptops were later sold and one firearm was tossed into a junkpile at an unknown location. He also said he didn't know the whereabouts of the second firearm.
