WACO, Texas (AP) - Odyssey Sims scored 25 points and No. 9 Baylor cruised to a 92-43 victory over Texas Tech after the Big 12-leading Lady Bears scored the game's first 19 points Wednesday night.
Baylor (17-3, 7-1 Big 12) has won its last three games, rebounding nicely from the team's first back-to-back losses in four years - since Brittney Griner's freshman season.
Texas Tech (6-14, 0-9) missed its first 12 shots before Marina Lizarazu, one of its two freshman starters, made an impressive drive for a layup more than 9 minutes into the game.
The Lady Bears had another big run to start the second half, with Sims making two 3-pointers as they scored 16 consecutive points over a 5-minutes span. Makenzie Robertson also had two 3s in that stretch before Nina Davis' run-capping layup made it 63-22.
No. 11 OKLAHOMA STATE 49, TCU 48
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Roshunda Johnson's basket with 9 seconds remaining lifted Oklahoma State to a victory over TCU on a night Tiffany Bias became the Cowgirls' all-time assist leader.
Bias had five assists for 712 in her career at Oklahoma State (18-2, 7-2 Big 12). She led the Cowgirls with 17 points. Johnson finished with 10 while Brittney Martin had 15 rebounds.
Oklahoma State trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half. OSU caught the Horned Frogs (12-8, 3-5) at 38-all on Kendra Suttles' layup with 12:10 left and didn't take its first lead until 10:30.
OSU was held to a season-low point total. The Cowgirls were also held to a season low for a single half with 20 points in the second half, but TCU scored only 14.
TCU was led by Natalie Ventress with 12 points and Zahna Medley 11. Latricia Lovings grabbed 12 rebounds.
No. 20 WEST VIRGINIA 67, No. 23 IOWA STATE 56
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Asya Bussie scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead West Virginia to a win over Iowa State.
The Mountaineers (18-3, 7-2 Big 12), who won by 14 at Iowa State two weeks ago, held the Cyclones (15-5, 4-5) to 28 percent shooting.
Bria Holmes had 16 points for West Virginia with Averee Fields adding 12 and Christal Caldwell 11.
Hallie Christofferson had 20 for ISU.
After Iowa State pulled within 22-19 with 7:33 left in the first half before Holmes knocked down 3-pointers on consecutive possessions. Nikki Moody made two free throws at 4:14 for Iowa State to make it 28-21 but the Mountaineers then closed the half on a 14-0 run.
Bussie had seven points and Holmes another 3 during the surge for a 42-21 lead. The lead never dipped below eight in the second half.
