Your Opinion: "Crazy' gun bill goes too far

Dear Editor:

Boy these guys in the Missouri Legislature really are something. It seems all these dudes on the right can do is pass some sort of gun legislation. No job bills, nothing to help labor, wages, health care, cleaning up the environment etc., just gun bills.

This Sen. Nieves's bill is crazy I think. On page A3 of the Feb. 21 News Tribune, provisions in the bill would allow concealed gun permit holders to carry openly, even in places where banned. Is this the wild west revisited?

And it would reduce the minimum age to get concealed carry to 19 year of age. How stupid. Young males this age and older are more prone to fights than anyone else. Testosterone anyone?

Look at the Zimmerman and Dunn cases. There will be many more like these if bills like this become law; there already are.

People get into an argument and bang, out comes the gun. Too much racism in this country for everyone to be packing a gun.

The next thing you know these lawmakers will want to legalize machine guns and be able to carry one.

There is too much anger, racism and bigotry in our society for everybody to be packing guns and that is not what the Second Amendment was for anyway.

Missouri voters reject these radicals.
