Fatima boys advance

To district title game

KAISER, Mo. - Will Robertson led four Fatima players in double figures Thursday night as the Comets rolled to a 79-38 victory against the School of the Osage Indians in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament semifinals.

With the win, the top-seeded Comets (18-8) will face sixth-seeded Steelville (14-10) for the title at 7:30 p.m. today. The championship game has been moved from Saturday due to expected wintry conditions.

Robertson finished with 16 points. Jared Schulte added 13 for the Comets, while Zach Buscher had 12 and Tom Zeilman chipped in 10.

Fatima led 24-9 after one quarter and took a 49-15 advantage into intermission. It was 71-26 heading into the final period.

Steelville advanced with a 66-53 win against second-seeded St. James in the second semifinal Thursday night after upending third-seeded Cuba 66-58 to open the tournament.

The Fatima-Steelville winner advances to the sectional round against the District 10 champion Wednesday night at Missouri S&T in Rolla.

The district championship girls game between Fatima (21-5) and St. James (24-2) is slated for 6 p.m. today. If tonight's games are postponed, they will be rescheduled for 1 p.m. (girls) and 3 p.m. (boys) on Saturday.
