Today is the last day to post reviews or photos of Jefferson City as a finalist in Rand McNally's "Best of the Road" contest.
In the "Most Beautiful" category, Jefferson City is in second place out of five finalists. Punta Gorda, Fla., is in first place with 6,631 votes, while Jefferson City has 3,603. Quincy, Ill., is in third place with 3,105 votes, followed by Arvada, Colo., 2,526; and Cloudcroft, N.M., 695.
The voting is over, but part of the judging criteria includes written submissions, video or photos. That can be done through today at www.bestoftheroad.com or by posting on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #bestoftheroad and #jcmo.
The winning town in each category receives a feature in the 2015 Rand McNally Road Atlas and a free custom iPhone app and online travel guide promoting the town as a top destination.
