A man charged with a strong-armed robbery in Jefferson City in May has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Brian Carpenter, 31, was charged with felony stealing and possession of a controlled substance.
He had three outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
Police reports show that officers were dispatched to Kohl's, 715 Stoneridge Parkway, for a shoplifting in progress.
According to the caller, Carpenter had concealed T-shirts in his shorts and was confronted by employees.
Carpenter refused to comply and assaulted the employees by pushing them.
The employees were able to take Carpenter to the ground and detain him for police.
Officers arrived shortly thereafter and took Carpenter into custody.
