Three Columbia-based stations announce on kmiz.com that they have returned to DirecTV after successfully completing contract negotiations over carriage.

DirectTV and News-Press& Gazette Stations, which include KQFX, KMIZ and MyZouTV in Columbia have reached a deal to get the stations back on.

All their stations have been unavailable on DirecTV since earlier this month after the two sides could not reach an agreement on rights and fees.

No word on how long the deal would last, but earlier reports said it would be a multi-year agreement.

Station officials have said the negotiations involve the price DirecTV is willing to pay to rebroadcast the stations' signals on the Internet.

The signals have still been available free over the air, on local cable systems and on Dish Network. However, some viewers have complained on KMIZ's website that they cannot receive the signals over an antenna because of their location or circumstances.

To allow local customers to watch the World Series, DirecTV turned on the signal so the games could be seen by their mid-Missouri customers.
