At 1:56 a.m. Sunday, the 9-1-1 communications center began receiving calls to respond to 1425 Missouri Blvd for a shooting victim.
When officer arrived on scene, they determined that the victim, a 19 year old Columbia resident, had been struck by gunfire and was suffering from a single wound to the back.
The initial investigation determined that the shooting did not occur at the business, but instead in the 1500 block of Edmonds Street. Due to the unfamiliarity of the victim, he went to the business to seek help.
Officers responded to the area and located evidence consistent with the victim's story.
They determined that several rounds were fired in the area, but could find no other victims.
During the interview with the victim provided information about a suspect vehicle and the victim is continuing to cooperate with the police in their investigation.

Jefferson City police are investigating an early morning shooting incident that injured one person.
Police first responded shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday to a report of a man with gunshot wounds at the McDonalds restaurant at 1425 Missouri Blvd. There, they learned that the victim had been shot in the lower back reportedly while he was outside in the 1500 block of Edmonds Street. However, no suspect was found when the area was searched.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
