A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to 120 days of shock detention in prison for pleading guilty to charges in connection with a robbery and assault of juveniles in August 2012.
Mark Yarbrough, 19, of 414 E. Ashley St., was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree assault.
A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows the incident occurred in the 1100 block of Jackson Street.
Three juveniles were approached by a group of five males, including Yarbrough.
The juveniles didn't know the males and attempted to run away.
One of the juveniles escaped; another was hit in the back of the head and then escaped. The third juvenile was hit in the back of the head and dragged to the ground.
While on the ground, the juvenile was surrounded by several subjects. He was hit in the head, kicked in the head and had his pockets rummaged through.
His wallet, an iPod and his cellphone were stolen.
When interviewed by authorities, Yarbrough admitting to being with the group, but only admitted to tripping one of the victims, causing him to fall to the ground.
