Jefferson City finished off its Florida trip on a high note. The Jays defeated Carter (Tenn.) 12-6 on Thursday to finish their excursion to the Sunshine State at 4-1.
Corey Beard picked up the win by tossing five innings and allowing three earned runs on five hits. He struck out six.
Alex Johnson went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and Hayden Strobel went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
During the trip, the Jays also defeated John Burroughs out of St. Louis, North Hills (Penn.) and Westwood (Fla.). Their only loss was to Fox Lane (N.Y.).
Jefferson City (7-1) travels Tuesday to Pacific.
