Rain brings flooding to some parts of Mid-Missouri

Moreau River above flood stage at Jefferson City

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning along the Moreau River near Jefferson City and the Maries River at Wesphalia.

Flood stage on the Moreau at Tanner Bridge Road is 17 feet, and the river was reported Sunday night to be above 21 feet. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage late Monday night or Tuesday morning. (See updated measurements and predictions via the link below.)

Minor flooding occurs at 10 feet on the Maries River at Westphalia. The river stage was reported around 11 feet on Sunday night. Water levels are expected to drop on Monday. (See updated measurements and predictions via the link below.)

In addition, various flood warnings and advisories have been issued for other parts of Missouri.

Motors should use caution when approaching low lying areas. Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. Water depth and current may be too severe to allow for safe passage.
